Responsibilities
- Lead the design of critical Nutanix Kubernetes Platform components for multi-tenancy, resilience, fleet management, and edge environments.
- Architect systems capable of managing tens of thousands of Kubernetes clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to a distributed team of 5–10 engineers through design reviews, coding standards, and technical guidance.
- Partner with Product Management, Data Services, and Core Hybrid Cloud teams on technical roadmaps for stateful workloads and disaster recovery.
- Represent Nutanix in the open-source community through upstream CNCF contributions, including Cluster API and Kappa.
- File patents and author white papers on hybrid-cloud technology.
- Work with customers and support teams to resolve complex production issues and maintain platform scale and user experience.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience within product-led companies.
- Significant experience architecting and shipping large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
- Experience with cloud-native systems, Docker or containers, and large-scale control-plane management is preferred.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including controllers and API machinery, is a plus.
- Ability to lead across teams, drive consensus, navigate ambiguity, and balance long-term innovation with short-term risk.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
