Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and support software connecting Graphcore accelerators with PyTorch.
- Contribute upstream to PyTorch and develop custom kernels.
- Integrate compiler backends with torch.compile to improve compatibility and performance.
- Investigate complex open-source codebases and document technical solutions.
- Review code, coordinate technical tasks, mentor colleagues, and improve team engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills across complex systems.
- Commercial experience building in Python and performant C++.
- Confidence with linear algebra and floating-point arithmetic.
- Strong Git skills, including commercial code review experience.
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar, large, or open-source codebases and write clear technical documentation.
- Experience in at least one of ML kernels, compiler development, ML frameworks, or computationally intensive engineering.
