Lead Software Engineer - Agentic AI, Java/Python
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug production software solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Build and operate agentic solutions on NEO, including agent execution, sandboxing, A2A and MCP integrations, memory nodes, retrieval, and evaluation harnesses.
- Deliver full-stack TypeScript and Next.js applications using the Salt Design System with real-time UI and virtualization at scale.
- Implement permission-aware and auditable agent execution with fine-grained authorization and runtime policy checks.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and responsible AI-assisted development.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation and improve application and system stability.
- Lead Software Engineering communities of practice and mentor Lead and senior engineers.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, with strong Python required.
- Production experience delivering React and Next.js web applications, including real-time UI using SSE or WebSocket and work within a component or design system.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic systems, including tracing, evaluations, and guardrails.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and software applications or technical processes in areas such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems.
- Practical cloud-native experience with production Kubernetes expected.
- Preferred: experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, embedding-based retrieval, Graph RAG, A2A, MCP, multi-agent orchestration, sandboxed code execution, agent memory, Terraform, Docker, and containerized deployments.
