Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, secure full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of platform capabilities and application features, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Lead cloud-native containerized microservices and platform-service architecture with emphasis on APIs, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Drive technical architecture decisions and collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams.
- Build backend services and REST or GraphQL APIs integrating with relational databases, search technologies, and distributed data systems.
- Develop operational and administrative user interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Design Kafka-based event-driven and streaming architectures, including event modeling and schema governance.
- Improve engineering quality through code reviews, troubleshooting, refactoring, performance tuning, and mentoring.
- Lead reliability, observability, monitoring, tracing, incident management, root-cause analysis, and technical-debt reduction initiatives.
- Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools and design AI-powered agentic solutions for software development, operations, support, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and microservice architecture experience.
- Experience leading the responsible use and validation of AI-assisted software development tools.
- Experience building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Strong experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and data-access patterns.
- Experience with Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms for event-driven and streaming architectures.
- Experience building frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with observability and operational tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, ELK, OpenTelemetry, and Postman, or equivalent platforms.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code, Jira, and Confluence.
- Working knowledge of Python for automation, data processing, or AI-enabled solutions is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes AI agents, agentic workflows, Model Context Protocol, prompt engineering, human-in-the-loop systems, AI governance, and AI-generated solution validation.
- Working knowledge of Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, including index design, query optimization, and operational management, is preferred.
