Responsibilities
- Define and maintain software safety architecture for complex SoC platforms spanning low-level software, hypervisors, bootloaders, and operating system layers.
- Derive and allocate system-level safety requirements to software components and improve safety-related processes and solutions.
- Design and implement freedom-from-interference mechanisms across partitions, processor cores, and privilege levels.
- Own safety architecture for hypervisor-based virtualization environments, including QNX Hypervisor integrations.
- Collaborate on hardware-software interfaces, safe boot, integrity verification, startup and shutdown sequences, safety analyses, reliability, and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in software safety architecture, functional safety engineering, or a similar role.
- Deep understanding of ISO 26262, especially Part 6 and Part 4.
- Hands-on experience with safety-relevant SoC platforms and hardware safety features such as MPU, MMU, ECC, and lockstep cores.
- Experience with hypervisor-based architectures such as QNX Hypervisor, Xen, or comparable safety-critical or mixed-criticality solutions.
- Strong low-level software background in bootloaders, bare-metal development, RTOS environments, or operating system internals.
- Ability to translate system-level safety requirements into practical software solutions.
- Preferred experience with automotive virtualization platforms, multi-domain vehicle architectures, software safety analyses, reviews, compliance activities, Linux, AUTOSAR, or Adaptive AUTOSAR.
