Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end automated test strategy across web portals, backend microservices, APIs, contracts, integrations, and event-driven systems.
- Design and maintain UI, API, service-level, asynchronous messaging, performance, load, resilience, and chaos-testing automation.
- Build scalable test frameworks using Playwright, Selenium or equivalent, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Test services deployed on AWS ECS, EKS, and Lambda, including local AWS integration testing with TestContainers and LocalStack.
- Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI pipelines and improve reliability, parallelization, execution time, and observability.
- Define quality metrics such as coverage, escape rate, MTTR, and flake rate.
- Use LLM-based tools to accelerate test authoring, test-data generation, debugging, failure triage, and code review while establishing responsible usage practices.
- Partner with development, product, and DevOps teams on quality, architecture, API contracts, and issue resolution.
- Mentor SDE-II/III QA engineers and influence quality-focused engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Java with the Spring Boot ecosystem and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium for web automation.
- Experience testing microservices, API-based systems, and asynchronous or event-driven architectures such as SNS/SQS.
- Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS, including ECS, EKS, and Lambda, with familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD test integration, pipeline quality gates, performance/load testing, and non-functional quality.
- Experience with API automation tools such as Postman or REST-assured and a solid understanding of REST APIs.
- Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and scripting.
- Hands-on experience using LLM/AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Ability to make quality decisions, solve problems, maintain attention to detail, and mentor other engineers.
- Preferred experience with Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, Terraform, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, identity verification, KYC/AML, security-sensitive domains, or LLM/AI-powered features.
