Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end data platform and data quality roadmap for Search & Discovery machine-learning efforts.
- Own, consolidate, and optimize core data logging, processing, and machine-learning model-training pipelines.
- Develop and scale infrastructure for batch and real-time data processing, monitoring, and debugging of machine-learning experiments.
- Design and implement scalable machine-learning ranking systems and online inference services.
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, product managers, indexing platform engineers, ranking engineers, and data platform engineers.
- Research and select technical approaches for challenging development and integration problems.
- Coach and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in applied machine learning.
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java with experience building production-grade machine-learning systems.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and computer-architecture impacts on software performance.
- Preferred experience with Hadoop, Hive, Presto, Spark, Scala, Apache Airflow, TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS, and GCP.
- Preferred experience deploying petabyte-scale data pipelines and managing high-throughput, low-latency mission-critical services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting complex technical concepts to nontechnical users.
- Experience with search and discovery ranking platforms is a strong plus.
