Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the future Core Data architecture in the cloud.
- Design and implement solutions for scale and observability challenges in the data tier.
- Develop services that identify, eliminate, and prevent data inconsistencies and corruption.
- Advise client engineering teams on using near-real-time data interfaces effectively.
- Drive adoption of near-real-time interfaces by identifying compatible engineering use cases.
- Implement initiatives that maintain availability, performance, and reliability SLOs.
- Collaborate across teams on relational data services, data streams, and scalable data processing capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and code design principles.
- Strong knowledge of high-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Scala or Java, MySQL, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
- Interest in database scale and performance challenges.
- Strong ownership, persistence, drive, and communication skills.
