Base Salary
$200k - $287k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify strategically important problems, inefficiencies, and opportunities for impactful improvements.
- Own end-to-end project delivery from solution identification and design through implementation, testing, and safe production rollout.
- Design and implement high-performance systems that handle increasing database request rates.
- Build next-generation transaction systems, caching, storage engines, and multi-tenant capabilities.
- Analyze performance and scalability bottlenecks, instrument system components, and implement solutions.
- Evangelize best practices in database usage and end-to-end architecture.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Systems programming skills in multithreading and concurrency, with fluency in C++, C, or Java preferred.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or web services.
- Experience with scalable key-value stores such as FoundationDB, RocksDB, LevelDB, DynamoDB, or Redis is a plus.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Track record of delivering highly complex projects in the distributed systems space.
- BS in Computer Science required; a master’s degree or PhD preferred.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with curiosity and enthusiasm for difficult technical problems.
