Responsibilities
- Own and drive the technical roadmap for key platform areas.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex backend systems.
- Make high-leverage architecture decisions to improve platform scalability and reliability.
- Identify and address systemic issues across services.
- Lead multi-team initiatives from concept to launch.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver outcomes.
- Communicate strategy and progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Architect and evolve API frameworks and platform capabilities.
- Establish and improve backend development patterns and standards.
- Champion engineering best practices across teams.
- Drive a culture of operational excellence through monitoring and incident response.
- Lead initiatives to evaluate and adopt new technologies.
- Identify opportunities for automation to increase engineering throughput.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
- Represent backend/platform engineering in cross-team planning and design reviews.
Requirements
- 10+ years of full-time engineering experience in high-scale environments.
- Experience designing and delivering backend architectures.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and API design.
- Proven track record of leading multi-team projects.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Go, Python, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, React, and AWS.
- Skilled in software engineering best practices.
- Ability to influence technical direction and align stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of ownership and proactive problem-solving.
- Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with LLM implementations and end-to-end product development.
- Experience establishing and driving team KPIs.
