Responsibilities

  • Design and build mission-critical IAM services primarily in Java.
  • Define and roll out SPIFFE/SPIRE as the organization’s service identity plane for internal APIs.
  • Implement workload-based identity using mTLS, X.509 SVIDs, and JWT-SVIDs.
  • Build highly available deployments, integrate with enterprise PKI and HSM systems, and develop verifier libraries for Java, Go, and .NET.
  • Create self-service tooling and golden templates to accelerate adoption.
  • Deploy and support large-scale systems across AWS and on-premises environments.
  • Maintain IAM documentation and standards, participate in code reviews, and identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, respond to stakeholder queries, and participate in production on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience in Java or another object-oriented language.
  • Experience with IAM authentication protocols including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
  • Experience building services using a relational database such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Experience implementing role-based access control systems in large distributed environments is desirable.
  • Experience writing RESTful HTTP APIs and understanding browser functionality such as cookies and CORS is desirable.
