Base Salary
$146k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build integrations between agents and external APIs, data feeds, partner systems, enterprise systems, document repositories, and databases.
- Package integrations as agent-callable tools with reliable interfaces, predictable inputs and outputs, error handling, and documentation.
- Own authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retries, schema mapping, deduplication, caching, and other production data concerns.
- Build orchestration for multi-step agent workflows, including tool routing, parallel execution, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Contribute across FastAPI/Python backends, React interfaces, PostgreSQL schemas, and containerized deployments.
- Instrument systems with traces, metrics, evaluations, and regression tests for nondeterministic agent behavior.
- Partner with platform, security, and mission engineers to move capabilities into production within federal compliance boundaries.
Requirements
- BS degree with 8 years of professional experience, an associate degree with 10 years, an MS degree with 6 years, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 10 years and meaningful AI/ML or LLM product exposure.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents and integrating LLMs into production or near-production applications.
- Experience designing external data integrations and packaging capabilities as agent tools or skills.
- Strong Python skills, including Python 3.12+, async/await, type hints, and modern tooling.
- Experience across FastAPI/Python, React, Docker, PostgreSQL, and REST, GraphQL, or comparable web APIs.
- Experience with workflow or task orchestration systems such as Airflow, Prefect, or Celery, or comparable agent orchestration patterns.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock and familiarity with agentic frameworks and tool-calling concepts.
- Knowledge of security concerns including secrets management, OAuth, API keys, defensive parsing, and prompt-injection awareness.
- Product mindset and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Preferred qualifications include RAG systems, knowledge graphs, document stores, agent evaluation, plugin systems, federal compliance environments, observability tooling, Kubernetes, distributed storage, and government or enterprise platform experience.
