Responsibilities
- Maintain existing tax programs and related products in compliance with taxing agency regulations and guidelines.
- Research, analyze, and interpret federal and state tax legislation, codes, regulations, forms, and instructions.
- Implement moderate tax product changes using code and internal software.
- Perform unit testing and quality assurance checks to prevent unintended changes during annual updates.
- Learn and apply tax content development tools for print and electronic filing.
- Complete expected sprint work and contribute to team process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members using Agile/Scrum methodologies and seek guidance from experienced colleagues.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of income tax preparation or analysis experience.
- Strong understanding of federal and state taxation, preferably across individual, business, nonprofit, estates, and trusts tax categories.
- Moderate understanding of software best practices and coding techniques.
- Previous in-depth use of tax preparation software is highly preferred.
- Ability to learn and apply tax content development tools and automated or manual testing processes.
- BS/BA in Business Accounting or Computer Science, or equivalent related experience.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, listening, and collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
