Responsibilities
- Upgrade open-source software packages through the Yocto Project to address security vulnerabilities and patches.
- Upgrade Linux kernel versions to meet product security requirements.
- Develop and maintain device drivers for PCIe, USB, eMMC, Ethernet, GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, and custom FPGA or ASIC peripherals.
- Design and maintain Device Tree DTS/DTB descriptions for hardware platform configurations.
- Select and maintain kernel configurations for target products.
- Integrate and maintain third-party kernel patches and vendor-provided kernel modules.
- Optimize system performance and latency to meet product requirements.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve platform issues arising during open-source software and Linux kernel upgrades.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in embedded Linux platform development and kernel engineering.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Programming experience in C or C++.
- Strong understanding of the Yocto/BitBake build system.
- Strong understanding of ARM64 and x86_64 architectures, hardware buses and protocols, Device Tree descriptions, Linux boot procedures, the Linux driver model, memory management, and task scheduling.
