Responsibilities
- Design and develop resilient, secure, and scalable Spring Boot and Core Java microservices on AWS.
- Implement maintainable service-oriented solutions using Spring Core and enterprise architecture standards.
- Configure and optimize AWS compute, storage, networking, deployment, security, and environment services.
- Use GitHub Copilot to accelerate development while maintaining code review and quality practices.
- Administer Git repositories, branching strategies, code reviews, and merge workflows.
- Define and implement RESTful APIs with validation, error handling, and logging.
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL or SQL procedures, views, queries, schemas, and transactional data services.
- Manage Maven dependency management, build automation, testing, packaging, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Translate insurance submission, quote preparation, and policy issuance requirements into technical designs and implementations.
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing of microservices and data components.
- Monitor application health and performance, analyze incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Document solution designs, technical decisions, and deployment guidelines.
- Participate in planning, refinement, retrospectives, and other agile delivery activities.
Requirements
- Eight to twelve years of hands-on engineering experience in designing and implementing resilient microservices.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Core, Core Java, object-oriented design patterns, and enterprise microservice development.
- Practical expertise with AWS services for hosting microservices, deployment automation, security configuration, and environment management.
- Proficiency with GitHub Copilot and Git, including collaborative development, code reviews, and source-control workflows.
- Strong PL/SQL or SQL development and optimization skills, including database schema and query design for high-volume transactional systems.
- Solid knowledge of Maven for dependency management, build automation, and continuous integration.
- Insurance or financial-domain experience involving online submissions, quote preparation, or policy issuance is preferred.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate, Oracle Database certification, or an equivalent cloud and database credential is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams across time zones.
