Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of maintainable critical systems and containerized microservices.
- Own backend development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, operations, and feature lifecycles.
- Define system-wide design patterns, architectural standards, observability strategies, and telemetry practices.
- Ensure application performance, uptime, scalability, fault tolerance, security, and code quality.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve architectural dependencies and conduct deep technical reviews.
- Evaluate technologies and frameworks and influence technical direction, architecture, and engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted analysis to evaluate architectural alternatives.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience.
- B.Sc. in Computer Sciences or a similar field.
- Proficiency in Java backend development and server-side technologies including Spring.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
- Expertise in testing methodologies including unit testing, TDD, and mocking.
- Fluency with relational databases and SQL.
- Preferred experience with Azure or GCP cloud services.
- Preferred experience with large-scale SQL or NoSQL databases such as Snowflake, SingleStore, or Postgres.
- Preferred experience with Agile Development or Extreme Programming methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, teamwork, and communication skills.
