Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical side of the sales cycle, including discovery, solution design, demos, POCs/POVs, and technical objection handling.
- Run technical expansion evaluations and identify new use cases within existing accounts.
- Build tailored working demos and prototypes on Exa’s API for agents, research, search, and enrichment use cases.
- Translate Exa’s capabilities into compelling narratives for CTOs, engineers, and product managers.
- Advise customers on Exa’s product and API, answer technical questions, run evaluations, and involve engineering when needed.
- Identify recurring customer patterns and communicate them to product and engineering teams.
- Develop reusable demos, integration patterns, and regional playbooks, and represent Exa at workshops, meetups, and conferences.
- Support early customers through onboarding and initial implementation while dedicated post-sales capabilities are developed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions or sales engineering, solutions architecture, or engineering with substantial customer exposure; the requirement is flexible for exceptional candidates.
- Technical depth with APIs and modern development, including the ability to design integrations, build working demos, and debug live using Python or TypeScript.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt explanations to different audiences.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, multiple parallel evaluations, shifting priorities, and an evolving regional role.
- Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, agents, and customer evaluation processes, including scoping POCs with clear success criteria.
- Based in the region and willing to travel for customer engagements.
- Experience owning technical evaluations at a developer-platform or API-first company is advantageous.
- Experience leading engineers, working as a hands-on solutions engineer, or running enterprise evaluations end to end is advantageous.
- Experience building with LLMs, including side projects, is advantageous.
- Additional regional language skills are a plus across APJ markets.
