Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and evolve the Enterprise Data Lake and supporting data platforms.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solution and application architectures.
- Develop reusable ingestion patterns and automate onboarding, testing, and deployment.
- Design governed data consumption patterns, IAM controls, and entitlement frameworks.
- Support audit processes through documentation, access-control evidence, entitlement reviews, and remediation of control gaps.
- Apply AWS DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational improvements to production data solutions.
- Evaluate data technologies and integration frameworks to improve platform capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership in architecture, planning, estimation, and delivery decisions.
- Mentor junior developers through hands-on leadership and coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data architectures and communicate design decisions and trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting production data solutions in AWS, including serverless processing, orchestration, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and information security.
- AWS DevOps experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, build and artifact/package management, automated testing and deployment, and CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Understanding of governed data access, IAM, role-based entitlements, least privilege, encryption, and audit logging.
- At least 5 years of programming experience including hands-on Python development; Java experience is relevant.
- At least 5 years of experience with AWS data services including CloudFormation, S3, Lambda, IAM, EMR, and KMS.
- At least 7 years of engineering experience implementing and supporting data ingestion and transformation pipelines using ETL/ELT and data lake or operational data store patterns.
- At least 5 years of SDLC and Agile experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with relational database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres, and MSSQL.
- At least 5 years of experience with ESB, messaging, or integration tools such as Kafka or SQS.
- Experience leading and mentoring in multifaceted, collaborative teams across business units, vendors, countries, and cultures.
- Preferred experience with data modeling, schema design, dimensional modeling, AWS certification, AWS services such as EC2, Kinesis, ECS, and ELB, data APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices, analytics tools, ETL tools, data visualization, financial product datasets, and regulated audit or access-control processes.
