Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering Directors, and Principal Architects to translate strategic objectives into scalable technical roadmaps.
- Design and implement Java platform features and services from conception through deployment.
- Define engineering best practices and contribute to technical designs, proposals, and long-term architecture.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to deliver critical engineering initiatives.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and raise engineering standards across the organization.
- Develop maintainable software with comprehensive test coverage and improve testing and CI/CD strategies.
- Create technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing.
- Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining security and code quality.
- Identify emerging device security and AI-native development trends and prototype innovative solutions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience building scalable, high-performance server-side features with Java and Spring.
- Deep expertise with high-performance Postgres or MySQL environments, including schema design and query optimization.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs for large-scale systems.
- Expertise in caching, asynchronous processing, and multithreading on server-side systems.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD in fast-paced development environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and influence technical direction.
- Deep understanding of endpoint security concepts, including TPM, Secure Enclave, device management protocols, and endpoint detection.
- Conceptual understanding of how iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS security features report state to the cloud.
- Proficiency with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with anomaly detection or risk systems is a plus.
- Experience with cloud security, identity, authentication, and IAM protocols such as FIDO, U2F, WebAuthn, SSO, SAML, OAuth, and Federation is a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure coding, and certifications such as CISSP or Security+ is a plus.
- Knowledge of TPM, Secure Enclave, and hardware attestation is a plus.
- Experience with ReactJS or gRPC API development and exposure to microservice architecture are a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

- Annual base salary for candidates in Canada is CAD 160,000–220,000, with equity where applicable and bonus eligibility.
