Base Salary
$139k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own part of the technical vision and roadmap for AI agents and software engineering tooling.
- Identify automation opportunities, build business cases, and define delivery roadmaps.
- Design, build, test, debug, document, monitor, and ship production AI agents and supporting systems.
- Use agent frameworks, LLM APIs, orchestration, retrieval, tool use, evaluation, prompt engineering, and observability to build reliable systems.
- Set technical direction for agent architecture, evaluation, and observability.
- Establish shared agent engineering patterns and standards while mentoring engineering teams.
- Investigate and resolve high-impact production issues involving agent behavior, accuracy, and reliability.
- Partner with engineering leadership, platform owners, enterprise stakeholders, and the Engineering Chapter on modernization strategy.
Requirements
- At least six additional years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least one year of experience shipping production systems built on LLMs or AI agents, excluding prototypes and demos.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
- Experience with modern agent frameworks such as Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, AgentCore, or similar tools.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as Anthropic and OpenAI.
- Proficiency in tool use, retrieval, multi-step workflows, evaluation, and observability.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience defining and driving technical direction for a workstream or product area.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and influence engineering or product strategy through technical insight.
- Strong communication, collaboration, decision-making, leadership, and mentoring skills.
