Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable, scalable, and observable production systems.
- Own systems end to end from problem definition and design through data, implementation, deployment, and operations.
- Work across application services, distributed systems, infrastructure, data pipelines, and ML systems.
- Debug complex production issues across multiple system layers.
- Improve performance, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to architecture and technical direction while writing maintainable code and documentation.
- Train, evaluate, and iterate on models; build reproducible pipelines; and deploy and monitor model performance, drift, and cost.
- Apply ML selectively and diagnose combined system and model failures.
Requirements
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
- Solid probability and statistics knowledge.
- Experience building production systems at scale.
- Ability to work across Go, Java, Python, Rust, and SQL.
- Understanding of system behavior under load and failure.
- Comfort with Linux, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging skills and the ability to reason using invariants and failure modes.
- Experience with data systems, streaming systems, ML infrastructure, and performance optimization.
