Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable, scalable, observable production systems.
- Own problems end to end from problem definition and design through data, implementation, deployment, and operations.
- Work across application services, distributed systems, infrastructure, data pipelines, and ML systems.
- Debug complex production issues across multiple layers and improve performance, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Train, evaluate, iterate on, deploy, and monitor machine-learning models and reproducible pipelines when appropriate.
- Contribute to architecture and technical direction, write maintainable code and documentation, and raise engineering standards.
Requirements
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
- Solid probability and statistics knowledge.
- Experience building production systems at scale and understanding system behavior under load and failure.
- Ability to work across Go, Java, Python, Rust, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Linux, containers, Kubernetes, data systems, streaming systems, ML infrastructure, and performance optimization.
- Strong debugging, first-principles reasoning, and failure-mode analysis skills.
