Base Salary

$173k - $242k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead AWS cloud engineering strategy, reference architectures, technical standards, and enterprise implementation patterns.
  • Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized AWS infrastructure and platform solutions.
  • Lead complex infrastructure and platform problem solving, significant incident root cause analysis, and durable corrective actions.
  • Establish infrastructure-as-code, automation, CI/CD, cloud governance, observability, security, and compliance practices.
  • Architect disaster recovery, high availability, backup, fault tolerance, and recovery validation strategies.
  • Partner with security, risk, compliance, engineering, architecture, and platform teams on regulatory controls and audits.
  • Influence technical roadmaps and investment decisions, advise senior stakeholders, document architecture standards, and mentor engineers and technical leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or a demonstrated portfolio consistent with the role’s experience requirements.
  • Typically 15 years of experience or equivalent demonstrated portfolio in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles.
  • Typically five years of experience or equivalent demonstrated portfolio designing and operating enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
  • Deep expertise in AWS core services, Kubernetes, container platforms, Linux environments, distributed systems, Terraform, automation, observability, and cloud security and compliance controls.
  • Demonstrated experience leading architecture and technical direction for large-scale, business-critical cloud platforms or migrations and influencing multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of mature engineering practices, secure engineering, operational readiness, software delivery lifecycle disciplines, and regulatory frameworks such as PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and FFIEC.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, AWS or other cloud certifications, regulated-industry migration experience, policy-as-code and governance experience, container security experience, programming or scripting experience, and knowledge of ACH/EFT, RTP, or FedNow networks.
  • Background and drug screen are required.

  • Base pay is listed by location, with ranges of $173,000-$230,000 in Phoenix, Chicago, and remote U.S. locations and $207,000-$242,000 in San Francisco, plus a discretionary incentive plan.
