Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering to translate system level requirements into product architectures.
- Develop, debug, and test complex systems using modeling and hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
- Create software subsystem architectures aligned with product level requirements.
- Design and develop software/firmware in C and C++ on embedded RTOS.
- Perform advanced risk analyses and work with engineering disciplines to implement solutions.
- Conduct software verification through code reviews and unit testing.
- Document system design inputs and outputs using the design control system.
- Evaluate product performance and initiate design changes for optimization.
- Analyze complex software issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering for electromechanical Class II medical devices.
- Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements including ISO 13485 and FDA QSR.
- Recent experience with microcontrollers.
- Experience with electronic design control and document management systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Creative problem solver with the ability to develop novel solutions.
- Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Strong design control and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills.
