Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and architecture direction for network security management solutions.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers while driving engineering standards adoption.
- Validate, test, debug, and refine AI-generated code and establish AI coding guardrails.
- Lead system design from requirements decomposition through deployment topology, data modeling, and API contracts.
- Collaborate with engineering managers and product leads on roadmap feasibility, estimation, and technical risk.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Go-based microservices for cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Build and evolve RESTful APIs and real-time communication capabilities for enterprise-scale customers.
- Implement certificate-based trust and mTLS for secure service-to-service and client-to-service communication.
- Apply secure development practices addressing OWASP Top 10 risks from design through delivery.
- Instrument services with structured logging, distributed tracing, and metrics.
- Support cloud-native AWS/Kubernetes and on-premises deployments with feature and security parity.
- Work with globally distributed engineering, QA, and product teams.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a master’s degree, 6 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 8–10 years of software development experience using Golang on Linux or macOS.
- Strong experience designing distributed systems, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, and event-driven systems at scale.
- Experience with Go microservices, gRPC/REST communication, REST API versioning and security, OpenAPI, and WebSockets.
- Hands-on knowledge of mTLS, x509 certificate lifecycles, PKI integration, and client identity verification.
- Experience with MongoDB operations, schema design, indexing, aggregation, and query optimization.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, New Relic, OpenSearch, structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and APM.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, service meshes, container networking, eBPF, secrets, RBAC, network policies, and pod security.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, secure design, secure code review, and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with firewall policy lifecycles, SD-WAN, IPSec, IKEv2, and WireGuard VPN topologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Git and code versioning workflows.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
