Base Salary
$180k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build secure multi-tenant backend services with tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, auditability, tenant-aware schemas and queries, and operational correctness.
- Develop tenant provisioning, self-serve administration, customer onboarding, billing, pricing, and metering services.
- Own and evolve public REST, streaming, and asynchronous APIs for human developers and autonomous agents.
- Ship SDKs and define the tool and function interfaces used by agents.
- Build and operate integrations for MCPs, agents, and customer-provided data while ensuring tenant scoping, isolation, and trust.
- Own outcomes, ship regularly, debug production issues, and make technical decisions under ambiguity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, including meaningful experience with APIs, backend services, or platform infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in API design and versioning, multi-tenancy, authentication and authorization, or backend services at scale.
- Solid experience with Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, AWS, and SQL or document databases.
- Ability to design developer-friendly APIs, write clear errors, maintain backward compatibility, ship working code, debug production issues, and own systems end to end.
- Ability to collaborate with infrastructure, data, application, and science teams and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
- Bonus experience includes multi-tenant SaaS platforms, audit or compliance requirements such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GxP, or FedRAMP, public developer platforms, APIs, SDKs, MCP, OpenAPI, OIDC/OAuth 2.0, tenant isolation patterns, or policy-based authorization with OPA.
