Responsibilities
- Define standardized AI tooling, model evaluation practices, prompt quality standards, and production pipelines.
- Build, deploy, monitor, and retrain classical ML models for risk, fraud, churn, retention, forecasting, pricing, segmentation, and other operational use cases.
- Build LLM-powered systems and AI agents for internal automation, customer support, and in-product features.
- Develop RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, tool-use workflows, and evaluation harnesses.
- Guide the company on where AI can create leverage and turn selected ideas into shipped systems.
- Own the full workflow from stakeholder scoping through data preparation, modeling, deployment, measurement, and iteration.
- Partner with the Head of Data and another ML/AI engineer to build the ML/AI capability from the ground up.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on production machine learning engineering experience in Python.
- Strong classical ML fundamentals, including feature engineering, model selection, validation, monitoring, and retraining.
- Experience owning production models and debugging model drift or operational issues.
- Experience building and evaluating LLM-powered systems, RAG systems, agentic workflows, or LLM-backed products used by real users or internal teams.
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalents.
- Comfort with vector databases, embeddings, prompt evaluation, and rigorous measurement of LLM systems.
- Experience with a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as containers and a modern data stack.
- Strong written and spoken English, communication, collaboration, and ability to translate business problems into ML problems.
- Experience with MLOps tooling such as MLflow, Airflow, Kubernetes, and feature stores is a plus.
- Background in fintech, payments, telecom, or other regulated or operational domains is a plus.
