Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance key-value storage engines and filesystems for large-scale distributed storage and database backends.
- Explore and evolve next-generation key-value storage engine architectures for low latency and high throughput.
- Understand storage requirements across business scenarios and collaborate with business teams on suitable storage solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with Python, Shell, or similar languages.
- Proficiency in systems programming, including system calls, library functions, network and multithreaded programming models, debugging, and I/O performance tuning.
- In-depth understanding of storage system architectures and principles, including LSM Tree and filesystems such as ext4 and BlueFS.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including consensus, replication, consistency models, and fault tolerance.
- Strong problem analysis, abstraction, design, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and learning skills.
- Preferred: PhD or higher in a relevant field.
- Preferred: experience with asynchronous programming models and event-driven architectures, including callbacks, futures/promises, and coroutines.
- Preferred: development experience with distributed storage, caching, database systems, single-node key-value storage engines, or single-node filesystems.
- Preferred: familiarity with RocksDB, LevelDB, Redis, Memcached, or Cachelib; RocksDB development experience is a plus.
- Preferred: development experience with storage-compute disaggregation architectures.
