Senior Staff AI Engineer
Hippocratic AIResponsibilities
- Define the multi-year technical strategy and architectural roadmap for RAG, multi-agent systems, real-time voice, evaluation, and safety.
- Architect foundational platforms and systems used across multiple products, teams, and partners.
- Partner with executive, product, and clinical leadership to translate long-range healthcare goals into technical bets.
- Represent engineering in board-level, partner, and regulatory conversations and drive zero-to-one and one-to-n initiatives.
- Own company-wide safety and evaluation standards, gates, and measurement systems for agents, deployments, and model changes.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers and shape hiring and leveling.
- Represent Hippocratic AI through publications, conference talks, partner engagements, and participation in the broader healthcare AI community.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in software, ML, or AI engineering.
- Proven experience building and shipping AI- or ML-powered products in production.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Deep understanding of prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval systems such as RAG, with voice-agent experience or willingness to learn rapidly.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern DevOps practices including Terraform, CI/CD, and monitoring.
- Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to work quickly in high-impact domains.
- Experience building or deploying LLM-based or multi-agent systems at scale is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, or streaming architectures for real-time AI experiences is preferred.
- Exposure to healthcare, safety-critical domains, or regulated product development is preferred.
