Base Salary
$128k - $145k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design next-generation cloud networking capabilities including VPCs, security groups, gateways, and routing domains.
- Implement control-plane and data-plane features and network orchestration.
- Manage BGP peering, tenant isolation, and network policy enforcement.
- Prototype and validate new networking capabilities at scale.
- Support production systems and participate in incident response.
- Extend Vultr’s control plane to integrate networking features.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure, network engineering, or hosting environments.
- Experience with public and private cloud virtual networking, SDN, and VXLAN/EVPN.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, Layer 2/Layer 3 routing, Linux, and Kubernetes networking.
- Experience with network automation and observability.
- Proficiency in Go or Rust; familiarity with PHP and SQL is a plus.
- Experience with high-performance networking hardware such as Broadcom DNX, XGS, DPUs, or SmartNICs.
- Experience with legacy system modernization, network security or multi-tenant firewalls, and cloud providers or hyperscalers is valuable.
- Ability to communicate clearly across engineering and leadership.
