Responsibilities
- Translate customer needs into executable workflows covering triggers, outcomes, participants, evidence, decisions, exceptions, and handoffs.
- Build and ship AI-assisted experiences, typed tools, service integrations, and workflow orchestration.
- Connect AI assistance to completed customer work and real application state rather than disconnected answers or recommendations.
- Extend reusable foundations for reliable orchestration, resumability, grounded retrieval, human approvals, and application services.
- Lead technical execution by decomposing opportunities, resolving dependencies, and guiding implementation across teams.
- Create evaluations and representative scenarios covering correctness, incomplete information, exceptions, permissions, and failure recovery.
- Measure customer outcomes with Product across effort, correction cycles, throughput, and decision quality.
- Engineer for production with attention to latency, model and tool costs, observability, safe rollout, failure recovery, prompt injection, and unauthorized tool actions.
- Partner with customers, Product, Design, engineers, and domain experts to define bounded, testable solutions.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience delivering customer-facing software and leading consequential technical work across teams or services.
- Hands-on experience building production AI applications that retrieve information, invoke tools, or coordinate multi-step work.
- Strong software engineering skills involving APIs, structured contracts, asynchronous execution, testing, and observability.
- Experience connecting AI capabilities to real application state and authorized actions, not only conversational prototypes.
- Experience designing evaluations and investigating failures involving incomplete data, ambiguous requirements, or unreliable model outputs.
- Ability to work directly with customers and domain experts to clarify ambiguous needs and translate them into bounded, testable solutions.
- Clear communication and the ability to increase the effectiveness of other engineers through technical leadership.
- Preferred experience with electric utility, interconnection, transmission, distribution, DER, storage, or large-load workflows.
- Preferred experience with regulated or evidence-intensive enterprise applications, TypeScript, Node.js, React, cloud-based service architectures, document processing, workflow engines, engineering-tool integration, or enterprise authorization models.
- Deep electrical engineering expertise is valuable but not required.
Benefits
- Remote-first culture with flexibility and balance.
- Professional development including training, mentorship, and career pathing.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one.
- Short- and long-term disability and basic life insurance at no cost.
- 401(k) plan with a 4% match.
