Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain production machine learning services and training pipelines.
- Build reusable MLOps components including feature stores, model registries, experiment tracking, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Develop back-testing, observability, drift detection, anomaly tracking, and model performance monitoring frameworks.
- Implement cloud-native ML infrastructure and automate operational tasks across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Establish software engineering standards, conduct code reviews, refactor research code, and mentor data scientists.
- Partner with global affiliate teams to explain model outputs, address business needs, and inform technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience running and maintaining machine learning systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Linux/Bash, SQL, Spark, dbt, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Weights & Biases, Airflow, and CI/CD automation.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and ML frameworks including scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Strong understanding of quality control, data contracts, observability, and clean API design; LLMOps, streaming/Kafka, or GPU experience is a plus.
- Must be based in Costa Rica or hold valid work authorization for San José.
