Responsibilities
- Set and enforce standards for clean, maintainable, and documented code.
- Lead high-level architecture and design sessions for scalable and secure systems.
- Create internal tooling and Golden Paths that simplify infrastructure for feature teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
- Drive features from requirements analysis through deployment.
- Debug production outages, optimize performance bottlenecks, and resolve complex logic issues.
- Collaborate across teams with product owners and other stakeholders.
- Lead technical initiatives or small project groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns in a full-stack Java and web technology environment.
- Experience building and scaling distributed systems, preferably in cloud-native environments.
- Experience identifying bottlenecks and optimizing performance in large codebases.
- Experience adopting AI/ML capabilities and integrating intelligent features into standard workflows.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or a similar major programming language.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience with Grafana, Prometheus, AWS, modern database technologies, Amazon Q, Kiro, and Claude.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and mentoring abilities.
- Education from a highly selective engineering institution with a focus on computer science fundamentals is preferred.
