Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance scalable backend microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Drive cross-platform integrations across the EverPro ecosystem for a performant invoicing experience.
- Optimize backend performance and reliability through refactoring, bottleneck analysis, and re-architecture.
- Apply distributed-systems principles and cloud-native architectures to improve observability, fault tolerance, resilience, and availability.
- Optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas, queries, storage, and caching solutions for scale and efficiency.
- Evaluate and introduce messaging and queuing technologies for asynchronous workflows.
- Lead architectural decisions, establish backend best practices, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence across teams.
- Author technical design documents, advocate for maintainable development patterns, and improve automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and engineering leadership to shape technical strategy and roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend systems, APIs, and data services.
- 1–2 years of experience operating at a Staff Engineer level and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience developing highly scalable backend microservices with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Extensive expertise in database modeling, indexing, and performance tuning across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other relational or document stores.
- Deep understanding of Redis, Memcached, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or comparable caching and messaging technologies.
- Proven experience designing high-performance REST or GraphQL APIs for high-traffic mobile and web applications.
- Strong command of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD deployment pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience assessing legacy architectures and driving pragmatic reliability and business-performance improvements.
- Exceptional communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to explain complex systems and collaborate across teams.
