Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the architecture for core autonomous AI agents, including planning, memory and retrieval, goal setting, and tool-use orchestration.
  • Apply reinforcement learning, inverse reinforcement learning, and related control methods to develop adaptive intervention strategies that maximize positive outcomes and minimize risk.
  • Select, fine-tune, and deploy foundation models for agent reasoning, natural language understanding, and empathetic communication.
  • Develop human-agent interaction models informed by cognitive science, behavioral economics, and therapeutic protocols.
  • Build simulation environments for pre-training and testing agent policies across psychological and behavioral scenarios.
  • Optimize production deployment for low-latency multi-agent orchestration, computational efficiency, high availability, and resilience.
  • Lead evaluation and adoption of agentic frameworks, reasoning technologies, and system design patterns.
  • Create evaluation and observability pipelines with trace analysis, golden-dataset testing, production monitoring, behavioral-drift detection, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop annotation.
  • Establish metrics for reasoning quality, task completion, safety compliance, and task alignment across the agent lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, electrical engineering, or a highly quantitative field; candidates with nontraditional education paths are encouraged to apply.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a production software engineering environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and deploying complex machine learning or autonomous systems.
  • Exceptional Python programming skills and mastery of scientific libraries.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for ML models and integrating them into service-oriented architectures.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of reinforcement learning, planning algorithms, or complex decision-making systems.
  • Hands-on experience fine-tuning, deploying, and managing LLMs in production, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested production code.
  • Proficiency with AWS, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
