Base Salary
$70k - $70k/yr
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software solutions for research administration.
- Write custom code and configure software packages using PHP, Python, JavaScript, Java, Microsoft technologies, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Operate, update, troubleshoot, and maintain production applications, web services, and related infrastructure.
- Evaluate and configure software tools, AI and automation solutions, integrations, and web frameworks.
- Provide technical consulting, respond to error reports and questions, and maintain functional and technical specifications.
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to define requirements, scope projects, improve processes, and implement automation and system integrations.
- Develop automated scripts and data pipelines for backend processing and system maintenance when needed.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in systems design, analysis, and programming.
- Ability to analyze, test, and debug complex code and successfully deliver projects within prioritized time frames.
- Experience with PHP, Python, JavaScript, relational databases, Microsoft SQL Server, Git, HTML, CSS, command-line interfaces, and Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or ChatGPT Codex.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Spring Boot.
- Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred: more than three years of systems design, analysis, and programming experience in a university environment.
- Preferred: experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, Oracle or higher-education enterprise data sources such as Kuali Research or Huron Research Suite, automated scripts or data pipelines, and technical documentation.
