Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain backend services and platform components within the Prism control plane.
- Design and develop secure, performant RESTful APIs and gRPC services for internal and external customers.
- Build scalable distributed-system components using principles of consistency, availability, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Architect and improve system upgrade paths and resilient deployment workflows across distributed clusters.
- Own medium-sized features from design through implementation, testing, and production readiness.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and improve service reliability.
- Collaborate with product management, QA, and engineering teams to refine designs and deliver software.
- Contribute to engineering practices, automation, CI/CD improvements, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience building backend systems or distributed applications.
- Proficiency in Golang and one or more of Java or Python is highly desirable.
- Required experience building REST APIs and/or gRPC services.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals, multithreaded programming, networking concepts, and debugging tools.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills for diagnosing complex multi-node system failures.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with agentic AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native application development, TLS, x509 certificates, authentication, and certificate management systems is advantageous.
