Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical architectures and module designs.
- Define technologies, design patterns, and architectural principles across backend and frontend environments.
- Define, size, and structure the resource architecture for the Order Management System.
- Assess technical feasibility and alternatives with the Product Owner and Business Architect while aligning the product roadmap.
- Present and defend architecture proposals to leadership, technical leads, and specialized Data, Infrastructure, and Microsoft teams.
- Define and document integrations with cross-functional platforms and systems with multiple sources of truth.
- Guide and mentor development teams, establish best practices, and steer execution of the target architecture.
- Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure, pipelines, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with the Data team on operational and analytical data architecture.
- Create and defend Architecture Decision Records and communicate technical roadmaps to technical and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience designing application and software architectures for complex systems.
- Backend architecture experience with Node.js and Express or NestJS.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong experience designing and governing REST API ecosystems, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and multi-source-of-truth integrations.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization, including OAuth2 and SSO, as applied to architecture and security.
- Ability to create and defend Architecture Decision Records.
- Assertive, proactive communication skills and the ability to explain and defend technical decisions.
- Practical exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude Code.
- Advanced English proficiency with conversational fluency for direct C-level communication and technical roadmap presentations.
- Ability to ramp up quickly in complex environments.
