Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-scale routing experiences for Twilio Segment Data Pipelines.
- Operate always-available distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define scalable and usable solutions.
- Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, customer impact, and alignment clearly.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot reliability issues, and improve operational tooling and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
- Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging or streaming systems and processing engines.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Experience operating large-scale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
- Experience shipping services using a CI/CD development paradigm.
- Understanding of scalable software engineering and high-level service design.
- Experience with container orchestration, datastores, distributed caching, container technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools is desired.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and experience working in geographically distributed teams are desired.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
