Base Salary
$192k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the software and gateware runtime for a next-generation quantum control system.
- Build emulation tooling for exploring real-time quantum error detection and correction control-system requirements.
- Make engineering tradeoff decisions that inform the control hardware and software roadmap.
- Translate science and software requirements into design proposals and drive accepted designs through implementation and rollout.
- Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, control-hardware partners, and quantum error-correction teams.
- Release open-source software and publish research in fault-tolerant quantum computing.
- Mentor scientists and improve codebase participation through documentation.
Requirements
- PhD, or a master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
- Experience working with scientists in a research environment.
- Experience with quantum error correction and quantum control systems.
- Strong engineering principles, problem-solving ability, communication skills, ownership, and teamwork.
- Preferred: experience with AWS tools and services and the broader quantum-computing software stack.
- Preferred: experience with GPU-accelerated decoding for quantum error correction.
- Preferred: track record of releasing open-source software and publishing quantum-computing research.
