Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable integration platforms and data flows across customer systems.
  • Develop native connections to HRIS, ATS, payroll, and other third-party APIs, handling authentication, pagination, rate limits, webhooks, and schema changes.
  • Build and monitor scheduled, retried, sequenced, and orchestrated data workflows across systems.
  • Improve integration performance for large customer datasets and make synchronization failures clear and actionable.
  • Work across Go API services, Temporal workflows, Python transformation systems, and customer-facing frontend components.
  • Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering, Implementation, Customer Success, and Engineering to expand platform capabilities.
  • Establish integration patterns, documentation, governance standards, and error-handling conventions.
  • Provide ongoing support for integration performance and troubleshoot complex cross-system issues.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience building and shipping production software, with solid backend fundamentals; Python and/or Go preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining third-party API integrations, including REST or SOAP, webhooks, OAuth, API keys, pagination, rate limiting, and upstream schema changes.
  • Experience with data pipelines and orchestration, including scheduling, retries, sequencing, and workflow monitoring.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to reason about data models and transformations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, CRM, or ERP systems and their data models.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Frontend experience with TypeScript and React or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience with Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Tray.io, Celigo, Temporal, Airflow, SFTP, CSV, or flat-file ingestion is a plus.
  • Experience handling sensitive employee or compensation data and applying security and privacy practices is a plus.
  • Must be based in Calgary and legally authorized to work in Alberta without current or future visa support.

Benefits

  • Targeted base salary of $106,000–$125,000 CAD per year.
