Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and ship bare-* native modules end to end.
Write C native addons that bridge Bluetooth, networking, filesystem, and cryptographic platform APIs into JavaScript.
Maintain and extend existing native modules and contribute to the Bare runtime core, including its module and native addon systems.
Set up and maintain cross-platform builds, cross-compilation toolchains, and CI for macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
Investigate and fix platform-specific build, toolchain, native addon, operating system, and device issues.
Help reduce the bare-node missing API surface and evaluate or integrate alternative JavaScript engines such as libjerry.
Respond to internal and public inquiries, communicate progress and blockers in writing, participate in weekly status calls and workshops, and coordinate with Keet and WDK/Wallet product teams.

Strong C programming skills with experience writing and debugging native code across platforms.
Advanced JavaScript skills and a solid understanding of Node.js internals and the module ecosystem.
Experience building native addons for Node.js or similar runtimes using N-API, node-gyp, or an equivalent.
Familiarity with libuv or another asynchronous I/O framework.
Comfort working with macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS build toolchains.
Experience with cross-compilation and platform-specific Bluetooth, networking, filesystem, and cryptographic system APIs.
Ability to read and navigate large C and C++ codebases.
Self-directed work style and strong written communication skills.
