Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust APIs, data access layers, integrations, and backend services.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide technical decisions and architecture direction.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Frontend, and Data teams.
- Drive coding, security, observability, testing, CI/CD, and code review best practices.
- Improve service quality and reliability through automation, performance optimization, and reduced operational toil.
- Apply secure coding practices and support security and compliance audits.
- Improve developer experience and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of professional backend development experience.
- Expertise building backend services and APIs with .NET/C# or Python.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Working knowledge of Azure Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus for messaging and event streaming.
- Understanding of security fundamentals and observability practices.
- Preferred experience with microservices, DDD, CQRS, event-driven architectures, GraphQL, gRPC, API gateways, Redis, and Terraform/Bicep.
- Ability to lead distributed teams, influence architecture decisions, and drive technical excellence.
- Background in regulated environments or financial services is preferred.
