Base Salary
$185k - $203k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for Ethernet retimers and gearboxes.
- Drive Layer 1 PHY and SERDES debug activities.
- Support complex IP integration efforts across multiple subsystems.
- Implement and optimize link training sequences and diagnostic features.
- Assist with software quality gates and validation criteria.
- Partner with software leads for product rollout activities.
- Support customer integration through firmware customization and technical guidance.
- Investigate field-reported issues and coordinate resolution.
- Develop and maintain SDK/API interfaces for customer platform integration.
- Collaborate with digital SoC teams and field applications engineers.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of embedded C/C++ firmware development experience.
- Deep understanding of microcontroller architecture and bare-metal firmware design.
- Experience with Layer 1 PHY firmware and SERDES bring-up.
- Strong proficiency with Linux development tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and systematic debugging approach.
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to take on challenges.
