Base Salary
$130k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead migration of legacy monolithic applications to Java-based microservices.
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Deploy and manage applications in AWS Kubernetes environments.
- Optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop secure production-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
- Support integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems.
- Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot.
- Participate in production support and on-call rotations.
- Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with development.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of Java development experience.
- Strong expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
- Knowledge of OAuth and application security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with development.
- Ruby-to-Java migration experience is preferred.
- Federal government or healthcare IT experience is preferred.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
- Must successfully pass a government suitability review and background investigation.
- Must have lived continuously within the United States for the previous three consecutive years.
