Responsibilities
- Act as a technical leader and mentor for the engineering team.
- Design and architect solutions, evaluate alternatives, and drive consensus and decision-making.
- Take technical ownership of projects and serve as a technical reviewer on others.
- Establish best practices for design, coding standards, testing, automation, and developer productivity.
- Ensure deliverable quality across user experience, scale, resiliency, and reliability.
- Partner with Engineering and Program Managers on project planning, milestones, and goals.
- Discuss requirements with Product teams and elicit non-functional requirements.
- Participate in product roadmap discussions and customer interactions.
- Write white papers and blogs, file patents, and represent Nutanix at external seminars.
Requirements
- Familiarity with operating-system internals, distributed data management, and web-scale systems.
- Proven experience building clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed applications or systems software.
- Strong experience building and managing web-scale applications.
- Experience with at least one of GoLang, C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong Linux experience.
- Working experience with storage, networking, virtualization, and/or cloud technologies.
- Experience with databases, including SQL and document-based databases, and messaging technologies such as NATS, Kafka, or Pulsar.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Proven hands-on technical management experience.
- Experience working in a high-growth multinational company environment.
