Responsibilities
- Design, code, debug, maintain, and upgrade software systems.
- Improve the performance, stability, and efficiency of existing products and services.
- Own large components and define product direction and long-term roadmaps across multiple product versions.
- Provide technical leadership to teams of 3–4 individuals and mentor engineers with high-level guidance.
- Lead and influence multiple teams, initiatives, and project-related technical decisions.
- Investigate and resolve software issues and solve open-ended, complex problems.
- Recommend technologies that improve engineering productivity and overall organizational capability.
- Collaborate with testing teams on performance test plans.
- Support product specifications and requirements development.
- Build cross-functional relationships and make decisions that consider multiple viewpoints and customer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 13 years of experience in Java development, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Proven experience with software development methodologies, high-level Java programming, and building complex web systems.
- Strong technical expertise, problem-solving, analytical, documentation, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a technical or business field.
- Preferred: Experience running web services at scale.
