Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and improve robust, resilient software across the product engineering lifecycle.
- Contribute to requirements analysis, solution and feature design, application architecture, and non-functional outcomes.
- Support software and solutions, troubleshoot issues, and resolve production problems effectively.
- Build quality into software through automation testing and appropriate quality practices.
- Automate manual work, leverage platform services and strategic tooling, and improve team scale.
- Ensure software security is appropriate and remediate deficiencies efficiently.
- Manage dependencies, issues, and risks while collaborating across teams and the wider technology group.
- Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers and contribute to effective team outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience with at least one core programming language: Python or C++, with willingness to learn the other.
- Ability to work across multiple products and APIs, with primary focus on backend engineering and some React frontend work.
- A testing mindset and familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD tools such as Buildkite and GitHub.
- Experience with application architecture, clean code principles, and designing for scale.
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to navigate ambiguity, and willingness to mentor others.
- Interest in solving complex technical challenges and contributing to software, data, security, and reliability outcomes.
