Base Salary
$116k - $152k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, maintain, and evolve the WordPress and Gutenberg web stack.
- Design reusable infrastructure, templates, component libraries, and workflows that enable marketing teams to launch and update pages independently.
- Partner with designers and stakeholders to translate design files and business requests into scalable web solutions.
- Balance speed, accessibility, performance, SEO/GEO, security, cross-browser compatibility, and maintainability.
- Use AI tools and establish repeatable AI-powered processes to accelerate web production.
- Scope and estimate work, communicate timelines and tradeoffs, and own delivery end to end.
- Keep the website healthy, responsive, performant, accessible, secure, and cross-browser compatible.
Requirements
- Strong HTML, CSS/SCSS, modern JavaScript, and React skills.
- Experience with headless or API-driven architectures and WordPress/Gutenberg, including custom post types, taxonomies, hooks, and the REST API.
- Experience working with security teams and managed hosting platforms such as WP Engine.
- Demonstrated ownership of web systems, architectural decisions, migrations, or operational changes that improved how a web team works.
- Daily experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, v0, Bolt, or Claude.
- Experience building scalable component libraries, templates, documentation, and guardrails.
- Strong project management, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and provide options and recommendations.
