Responsibilities

  • Rotate through product teams to improve quality practices and define pragmatic test pyramids.
  • Build AI agents, test frameworks, CI tooling, helper scripts, and automation for exploratory testing and test authoring.
  • Develop reliable E2E automation, test environments, data fixtures, performance benchmarks, and coverage improvements.
  • Reduce test flakiness and diagnosis time through root-cause analysis rather than repeated retries.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams on shift-left quality, acceptance criteria, risk identification, and production issue follow-up.
  • Use Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to connect test coverage with customer impact.
  • Establish and improve Service Level Objectives and conduct targeted exploratory testing for high-risk releases.
  • Coach other disciplines and drive measurable quality improvements across multiple teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering or test automation.
  • Experience working across multiple teams in a scaled engineering environment and driving quality improvements.
  • Hands-on coding experience with test code, frameworks, CI pipelines, and helper scripts.
  • Experience with API testing, contract testing, test data strategy, and test environment strategy.
  • Experience establishing and using Service Level Objectives and improving measurable reliability outcomes.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted workflows for test authoring, failure triage, or coverage analysis, including judgment about when not to use AI.
  • Experience coaching other disciplines and gaining adoption of quality practices.
  • Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including flakiness reduction, parallelization, artifact management, and runtime control.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and drive improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting.
  • Ability to describe 3–4 projects with measurable quality impact.
  • Preferred experience with incident management, PHP, Kotlin, TypeScript, financial services, or other regulated environments.
